The Haarlem Christmas market is one of the largest in the Netherlands. For one weekend in December, the capital of North Holland becomes a Christmas paradise, with a large Christmas market crisscrossing the city center. The market is located on the Grote Markt, the Botermarkt, and other shopping streets. It boasts no fewer than 350 stalls selling all sorts of trinkets, food, and drinks. A Dickens orchestra also roams the city center, and choirs perform at various historic locations. The old city center, with its beautifully decorated buildings and facades, creates an extra cozy atmosphere. Enjoy a meal at one of the city's restaurants or enjoy a hot chocolate or mulled wine on the Grote Markt.
